Hi, I’m Vera. I find joy in designing supportive environments, through architecture, art, and community development. My particular focus is on designing homes that are lovely and efficient, while also affordable to those who need them most.

I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, the oldest of seven children. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, I moved to Pittsburgh and worked for several years at Devlin Architecture and at Urban Design Associates (UDA). My work at these firms included the design for many buildings and residences, construction drawings, architectural renderings and models, and marketing materials.

In 2012 my husband, Ryan, and I started an architecture firm, citySTUDIO. Our firm specializes in local projects, working to make the city neighborhoods of Pittsburgh places where people and communities thrive. We have four wonderful children, and enjoy a very full life together.
